U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota Makes History


The 116th Congress is the most diverse group of lawmakers in U.S. history. We spent the history-making day with Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, the first Somali-American elected to Congress and one of two Muslim women sworn in this year. She is also the first woman of color to represent Minnesota.
