Reciting the Quran During Menstruation

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would recline in 'A'isha's lap while she was menstruating and recite the Quran.

'A'isha reported: The Messenger of Allah would recline in my lap when I was menstruating, and recite the Qur'an.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَكِّيُّ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يَتَّكِئُ فِي حِجْرِي وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ فَيَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's practice of reciting the Qur'an while he was in 'A'isha's lap during her menstrual cycle. This hadith shows us that even though menstruating women are not allowed to pray or touch a copy of the Qur’an, they can still benefit from its teachings by listening to it being recited. It also teaches us that we should not be ashamed of our bodies or feel embarrassed about our natural bodily functions. We should instead embrace them and use them as an opportunity to learn more about Islam and its teachings.
