Sahih Muslim 300 (Book 3, Hadith 14) #7862
Acceptance of Food and Drink from Menstruating Women

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) showing no hesitation in accepting food and drink from 'A'isha, even when she was menstruating.

'A'isha reported: I would drink when I was menstruating, then I would hand it (the vessel) to the Apostle and he would put his mouth where mine had been, and drink, and I would eat flesh from a bone when I was menstruating, then hand it over to the Apostle and he would put his mouth where mine had been. Zuhair made no mention of (the Holy Prophet's) drinking.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of acceptance and respect for all people regardless of their circumstances or state. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) showed no hesitation in accepting food and drink from 'A'isha, even when she was menstruating, which at that time was considered a state of impurity. This hadith teaches us to accept people as they are without judgement or prejudice, regardless of their physical or mental states. It also teaches us to be respectful towards others by not making them feel uncomfortable due to any differences between them and ourselves. Furthermore, it shows us that we should not be ashamed or embarrassed about our own physical states but rather embrace them with dignity and pride as Allah has created us all differently for a reason.
