Sahih Muslim 298b (Book 3, Hadith 12) #7860
Menstruation is Not in Women's Hands

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that menstruation is not something a woman can control and should not be seen as a barrier to performing tasks.

'A'isha reported: The Messenger of Allah ordered me that I should get him the mat from the mosque. I said: I am menstruating. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Do get me that, for menstruation is not in your hand.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that women should not be held back from doing tasks due to their menstrual cycle. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was teaching 'A'isha that she should still perform her duties even if she was on her period. He made it clear that menstruating is something out of women's control and they should not be judged or treated differently because of it. This hadith also shows us the importance of respecting women and understanding their needs during this time. It also encourages us to treat everyone equally regardless of gender or any other factor.
