Overcoming Barriers with Menstruation

SUMMARY: Menstruation is not a barrier to performing tasks.

'A'isha reported: The Messenger of Allah said to me: Get me the mat from the mosque. I said: I am menstruating. Upon this he remarked: Your menstruation is not in your hand.

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for excellence in all aspects of life regardless of any obstacles faced along the way .

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by 'A'isha speaks of the importance of overcoming barriers and continuing to perform tasks despite any physical or mental limitations. In this case, the limitation was menstruation. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) encouraged 'A'isha to go and get him a mat from the mosque even though she was menstruating at that time. This shows us that we should not let our physical or mental limitations stop us from doing what needs to be done in life. We should strive for excellence in all aspects of our lives regardless of any obstacles we may face along the way. This hadith also teaches us about gender equality as it does not differentiate between men and women when it comes to performing tasks; both genders are equally capable of achieving their goals if they put their minds to it.
