Sahih al-Bukhari 5089 (Book 67, Hadith 27) #4873
Supplicating for Inability to Perform Hajj

SUMMARY: Aisha was unable to perform Hajj due to her sickness, but the Prophet advised her to make a supplication that she will complete her Ihram wherever Allah stops her.

Narrated 'Aisha: Allah's Messenger entered upon Dubaa bint Az-Zubair and said to her, "Do you have a desire to perform the Hajj?" She replied, "By Allah, I feel sick". He said to her, "Intend to perform Hajj and stipulate something by saying, 'O Allah, I will finish my Ihram at any place where You stop me (ie I am unable to go further)". She was the wife of Al-Miqdad bin Al-Aswad.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of making supplications and having intentions even when one is unable to fulfill them. Dubaa bint Az-Zubair was not able to perform the pilgrimage due to sickness, however, the Prophet advised her that she should still have an intention and make a supplication that if Allah wills it, she will be able to finish her Ihram at any place He stops her. This hadith teaches us that we should always have faith in Allah's mercy and power even when we are unable or limited in our abilities. We should never give up hope and always strive for what we want with sincerity and faith in God's plan for us.
