Choosing a Wife Based on Religion

SUMMARY: A woman should be chosen for marriage based on her religiousness, wealth, family status and beauty.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "A woman is married for four things, ie, her wealth, her family status, her beauty and her religion. So you should marry the religious woman (otherwise) you will be a loser.

QUICK LESSONS:
Choose your spouse based on their religiosity first before considering other factors like wealth, family status or beauty .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that when choosing a wife, one should consider four things; her wealth, family status, beauty and most importantly her religion. He warned that if one does not choose the religious woman then they will be a loser. This hadith emphasizes the importance of religion in marriage and how it should be prioritized over other factors such as wealth or beauty. It is important to note that this hadith does not mean that one should only marry someone who is wealthy or beautiful but rather it means that these qualities are secondary to religion when making such an important decision in life. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also taught us to treat our wives with kindness and respect regardless of their social standing or financial situation. This hadith serves as an important reminder for us all to prioritize religion when making decisions about marriage so we can ensure our success in this world and the hereafter.
