Witnessing a Miracle

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) witnessed a miracle of the moon being split into two parts.

Narrated 'Abdullah: The moon was cleft asunder while we were in the company of the Prophet, and it became two parts. The Prophet said, Witness, witness (this miracle).
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ انْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ وَنَحْنُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ فَصَارَ فِرْقَتَيْنِ، فَقَالَ لَنَا ‏ "‏ اشْهَدُوا، اشْهَدُوا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad witnessing a miraculous event. It is narrated by Abdullah that while they were in the company of the Prophet Muhammad, they saw that the moon was split into two parts. The Prophet then said to witness this miracle as an act of faith and belief in Allah's power and greatness. This hadith teaches us to have faith in Allah's power and greatness even when we witness something extraordinary or miraculous. It also teaches us to be witnesses for truth and justice no matter what it takes or how difficult it may be. We should always strive to do what is right even if it means going against popular opinion or standing up for something unpopular.
