Witnessing a Miracle of the Moon

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) witnessed a miracle in which the moon was split into two parts.

Narrated Ibn Masud: During the lifetime of Allah's Messenger the moon was split into two parts; one part remained over the mountain, and the other part went beyond the mountain. On that, Allah's Messenger said, "Witness this miracle".

EXPLANATIONS:
During the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, he witnessed a miraculous event in which the moon was split into two parts. One part remained over the mountain and another part went beyond it. Upon witnessing this miracle, Prophet Muhammad said “Witness this miracle” as if to encourage others to take note of what they were seeing and remember it for future generations. This hadith serves as an example of how Allah can perform miracles that are beyond human comprehension and should remind us that He is capable of anything He wills. It also serves as an example for us to witness such miracles with awe and respect, rather than disbelief or doubt.
