Performing Umrah During Times of Affliction

SUMMARY: Abdullah bin Umar set out for Umra during a time of affliction and assumed Ihram for 'Umra in the year of Al-Hudaibiya, just as they did when they were with the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).

Narrated Nafi': 'Abdullah bin 'Umar set out for Umra during the period of afflictions, and he said, "If I should be stopped from visiting the Ka'ba, I will do what we did when we were with Allah's Messenger ". He assumed Ihram for 'Umra in the year of Al-Hudaibiya.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about Abdullah bin Umar setting out to perform an Umrah pilgrimage during a time of affliction. An Umrah is a pilgrimage to Mecca that can be performed at any time throughout the year. It involves entering into a state called Ihram, which requires wearing two white sheets and abstaining from certain activities such as cutting one's hair or nails. The hadith also mentions that this was done in the same way as when they were with Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, indicating that it was done according to his teachings. This hadith teaches us that even during difficult times, we should still strive to fulfill our religious obligations and remain steadfast in our faith. We should not let difficulties prevent us from doing what is right and fulfilling our duties towards Allah SWT.
