Prohibited Ways of Sitting and Wrapping

SUMMARY: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) forbade certain ways of sitting and wrapping oneself with a single garment.

Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri: Allah's Messenger forbade Ishtimal-As-Samma' (wrapping one's body with a garment so that one cannot raise its end or take one's hand out of it). He also forbade Al-Ihtiba' (sitting on buttocks with knees close to 'Abdomen and feet apart with the hands circling the knees) while wrapping oneself with a single garment, without having a part of it over the private parts.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibited ways of sitting and wrapping oneself with a single garment. According to this hadith, Allah's Messenger forbade Ishtimal-As-Samma', which is when one wraps their body with a garment so that they cannot raise its end or take their hand out of it. He also forbade Al-Ihtiba', which is when one sits on their buttocks with their knees close to the abdomen and feet apart while wrapping themselves in a single garment without having any part over the private parts. These two practices are considered haram according to this hadith as they do not provide adequate coverage for one's private parts.
