The Prophet's Sa'y Between As-Safa and Al-Marwah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was seen doing sa'y between as-Safa and al-Marwah, lifting up his garment which reached to his knees.

Muhammad bin 'Ali Abu Ja'far told us. My paternal uncle told me, from his father, that he saw the Messenger of Allah doing sa'y between as-Safa and al-Marwah in the Mas'a, lifting up his garment which reached to his knees.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's pilgrimage to Makkah. During this pilgrimage, he was seen doing sa’y between two hills called as-Safa and al Marwah. Sa’y is a ritual that pilgrims perform during Hajj where they walk seven times back and forth between these two hills. It is said that the Prophet lifted up his garment which reached to his knees while performing this ritual. This hadith teaches us the importance of following the rituals of Hajj with utmost respect and reverence, just like how our beloved prophet did it himself. It also teaches us humility by showing us how even a great leader like him did not hesitate in following religious practices with modesty and humility.
