Craving for Wealth and Long Life

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that although a person grows old, their desire for wealth and long life remain young.

It was narrated from Anas that the Messenger of Allah said: "The son of Adam grows old but two things remain young in him: His craving for wealth and his craving for a long life".

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for balance between worldly success & spiritual fulfillment; Focus on present moment; Live meaningfully & fulfillingly regardless of age/circumstance; Don't take desires too far/excessive

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad's hadith teaches us that although we grow old, our desires for wealth and a long life remain young. This is because these two things are deeply rooted in human nature. We all want to have enough money to live comfortably and we all want to live as long as possible. However, the Prophet Muhammad reminds us that these desires should not be taken too far or become excessive. We should strive to achieve balance in our lives by seeking both worldly success and spiritual fulfillment.

The hadith also serves as a reminder of the importance of living in the present moment rather than worrying about what may happen in the future or regretting what has happened in the past. By focusing on what we can do today, we can make sure that our lives are meaningful and fulfilling regardless of age or circumstance.
