Punishment for Treachery on the Day of Resurrection

SUMMARY: On the Day of Resurrection, everyone who has committed treachery will be punished according to the extent of their betrayal.

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri that the Messenger of Allah said: "For every traitor a banner will be set up on the Day of Resurrection, commensurate with his treachery".

QUICK LESSONS:
Do not betray anyone or do anything wrong so you can avoid being punished by Allah on Judgement Day.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how people who have committed treachery will be punished on the day of judgement. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that a banner will be set up for every traitor, and it will be commensurate with their level of betrayal. This means that those who have betrayed others in a small way will receive a smaller punishment than those who have betrayed others in a large way. It is important to remember that Allah is just and fair, so He knows exactly what each person deserves and He will make sure they get it on the day of judgement. We should all strive to live our lives in such a way that we do not betray anyone or do anything wrong so we can avoid being punished by Allah on this day.
