The Consequences of Treachery

SUMMARY: On the Day of Resurrection, a banner will be set up for every traitor and it will be announced that this is the treachery of that person.

It was narrated from 'Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah said: "A banner will be set up for every traitor on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said: 'This is the treachery of so-and- so.’"
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ يُنْصَبُ لِكُلِّ غَادِرٍ لِوَاءٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيُقَالُ هَذِهِ غَدْرَةُ فُلاَنٍ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the consequences of treachery on the Day of Judgment. It is narrated from 'Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah said, "A banner will be set up for every traitor on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said: 'This is the treachery of so-and-so.'" This means that everyone who has committed an act or acts which can be considered as treacherous or disloyal to Allah and His Messenger will have a banner raised in their name on Judgment day. This serves as a reminder to all people to stay away from any kind actions which could lead them astray from Allah's path. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us about accountability; no matter how small or insignificant our actions may seem now, we are still accountable for them in front God Almighty on Judgment day.
