Moving Aside After Obligatory Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that the Imam should not pray in the same place where he offered the obligatory prayer until he moves aside.

It was narrated from Al-Mughirah bin Shu’bah that the Messenger of Allah said: "The Imam should not pray in the place where he offered the obligatory prayer, until he moves aside". Another chain from Mughirah, from the Prophet with similar wording.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، ‏.‏ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ ـ قَالَ ‏ "‏ لاَ يُصَلِّي الإِمَامُ فِي مُقَامِهِ الَّذِي صَلَّى فِيهِ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ حَتَّى يَتَنَحَّى عَنْهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ التَّمِيمِيِّ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ ـ نَحْوَهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us an important lesson about prayer and its etiquette. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that after offering an obligatory prayer, the Imam should move aside and not pray in the same place again until they have moved away from it. This is to ensure that we are mindful of our prayers and respect them by not repeating them in the same spot over and over again. It also teaches us to be mindful of our surroundings when praying so as to avoid distractions or disturbances while praying. Furthermore, this hadith encourages us to be respectful of other people's prayers by not disturbing them while they are praying or engaging in any activities which may distract them from their prayers.
