Sunan Ibn Majah 1429 (Book 5, Hadith 627) #30781
Forbidden Actions in Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) forbade three things: Pecking like a crow, spreading the arms like a beast of prey, and having a designated place in the mosque for prayer.

It was narrated that 'Abdur-Rahman bin Shibl said: "The Messenger of Allah forbade three things: Pecking like a crow, spreading (the forearms) like a beast of prey, and a man having a place in the mosque in which he usually offers the prayer, like a camel has a place to which it usually goes".

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray with respectfulness & humility towards Allah SWT .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that when we pray, we should not do certain actions. He forbade us from pecking like a crow, which means to move our heads up and down quickly while praying. He also prohibited us from spreading our arms out wide like an animal of prey would do when it is about to attack its target. Lastly, he warned against having one specific spot in the mosque where you always pray as if it were your own personal space or territory. These teachings remind us that prayer is an act of worship and reverence towards Allah SWT and should be done with humility and respect for Him alone.

We must remember that prayer is not just about physical movements but also about spiritual connection with Allah SWT through supplication and remembrance of Him during our prayers. Therefore, we must strive to make sure that all aspects of our prayers are done properly so as to gain maximum benefit from them both spiritually and physically.
