The Importance of Witr Prayer

SUMMARY: Allah loves odd numbers and it is important to perform Witr prayer.

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Mas’ud that the Prophet said: "Allah is Witr and He loves the odd (numbered), so perform Witr, O people of the Qur’an". A Bedouin said: 'What is the Messenger of Allah saying?’ He said: 'That is not for you or your companions.’"

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Allah's commands even if you don't understand why He has commanded them in the first place .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains the importance of performing the Witr prayer, which is a voluntary prayer that Muslims can choose to do at night. It was narrated by Abdullah bin Masud, who was one of the companions of Prophet Muhammad. In this hadith, Prophet Muhammad said that Allah loves odd numbers and so it is important for people to perform the Witr prayer. A Bedouin asked what he meant by this but he said that it was not for him or his companions to understand. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive to follow Allah's commands even if we don't understand why He has commanded them in the first place. We should also remember that some things are beyond our understanding and so we should accept them without question.
