Raising Hands in Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) raised his hands extensively when he began his prayer.

Narrated AbuHurayrah: When the Messenger of Allah began his prayer, he raised his hands extensively.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَمْعَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ مَدًّا
