Standardizing Measurement and Weight

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ taught that the measure and weight to be used should be the same as those used by the people of Al-Madinah and Makkah respectively.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet said: "The measure (to be used) is the measure of the people of Al-Madinah, and the weight (to be used) is the weight of the people of Makkah".

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow standardized measurements & weights set by people of Madinah & Makkah respectively

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us about the importance of standardizing measurement and weight. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that when it comes to measuring or weighing something, it should be done using the same standards as those used by people in Al-Madinah and Makkah respectively. This is important because it ensures fairness in transactions between people, since everyone is using a common standard for measurement or weight. It also helps prevent any confusion or disputes over what constitutes a fair transaction since everyone is using the same standards. By following this teaching from our beloved Prophet ﷺ we can ensure fairness in all our dealings with others.
