Sahih al-Bukhari 1771, 1772 (Book 25, Hadith 247) #1698
Performing Tawaf and Departing for Hajj

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) allowed Safiya to depart for Medina after she got her menses on the night of Nafr, as she had already performed the Tawaf on the Day of Nahr.

Narrated 'Aisha: Safiya got her menses on the night of Nafr (departure from Hajj), and she said, "I see that I will detain you". The Prophet said, "Aqra Halqa! Did she perform the Tawaf on the Day of Nahr (slaughtering)?" Somebody replied in the affirmative. He said, "Then depart". (Different narrators mentioned that) 'Aisha said, "We set out with Allah''s Apostle (from Medina) with the intention of performing Hajj only. When we reached Mecca, he ordered us to finish the Ihram. When it was the night of Nafr (departure), Safiya bint Huyay got her menses. The Prophet said, "Halqa Aqra! I think that she will detain you," and added, "Did you perform the Tawaf (Al-Ifada) on the Day of Nahr (slaughtering)?" She replied, "Yes". He said, "Then depart". I said, "O Allah''s Apostle! I have not (done the Umra)". He replied, "Perform 'Umra from Tan'im". My brother went with me and we came across the Prophet in the last part of the night. He said, "Wait at such and such a place".

QUICK LESSONS:
Perform your religious duties with dedication so you can reap its rewards even if something unexpected happens later on in your journey .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about performing a religious ritual known as Hajj, which is an annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia. It is one of the five pillars of Islam and it involves several rituals such as wearing special clothing called Ihram, performing Tawf around Kaaba seven times, slaughtering animals at Mina and departing from Mecca after completing all these rituals. In this hadith, we learn that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ allowed Safiya to depart from Mecca even though she got her menses on the night of Nafr because she had already performed the Tawf on Day of Nahr. This shows us that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was very considerate towards his companions and he always tried to make things easier for them whenever possible. He also showed us how important it is to perform our religious duties with dedication so that we can reap its rewards even if something unexpected happens later on in our journey.
