Fasting on a Journey

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad fasted from Medina to Qudaid, then broke his fast until he reached Makkah.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "The Messenger of Allah fasted from Al-Madinah until he came to Qudaid, then he broke his fast until he reached Makkah".
أَخْبَرَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْثَرٌ، عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عُتَيْبَةَ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ صَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ حَتَّى أَتَى قُدَيْدًا ثُمَّ أَفْطَرَ حَتَّى أَتَى مَكَّةَ
