Praying Inside the Ka'bah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) prayed inside the Ka'bah with Usamah bin Zaid, Bilal and 'Uthman bin Talhah.

It was narrated from Salim that his father said: "The Messenger of Allah entered the House (the Ka'bah), with Usamah bin Zaid, Bilal and 'Uthman bin Talhah, and they locked the door behind them. When the Messenger of Allah opened it, I was the first one to enter. I met Bilal and asked him: 'Did the Messenger of Allah pray inside?' He said: 'Yes, he prayed between the two Yemeni columns'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates an event that happened when Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) entered the Ka’bah with three of his companions - Usamah bin Zaid, Bilal and ‘Uthman bin Talhah. They locked the door behind them and when they opened it again, Salim was the first one to enter. He asked Bilal if they had prayed inside and he confirmed that they did pray between two Yemeni columns in there. This hadith shows us how important it is to visit holy places like the Ka’bah as well as how important prayer is for Muslims since even our beloved Prophet Muhammad used to pray in such a sacred place. It also teaches us about respect for holy places by locking up doors before entering them so no one can disturb or disrespect what is going on inside.
