Sunan an-Nasai 691 (Book 8, Hadith 4) #15299
The Superiority of Praying in the Prophet's Mosque

SUMMARY: Praying in the Masjid of the Prophet is better than a thousand prayers offered elsewhere, except for the Masjid of Ka'bah.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that Maimunah the wife of the Prophet said: "Whoever prays in the Masjid of the Messenger of Allah (that is good), for I heard the Messenger of Allah say: ' One prayer offered there is better than a thousand prayers offered elsewhere, except the Masjid of the Ka'bah'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Offer regular prayer at your local mosque .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith highlights the importance and superiority of praying in the Masjid or mosque of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It was narrated by Ibn 'Abbas and Maimunah, wife of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ that whoever prays in this mosque will be rewarded more than a thousand prayers offered elsewhere. However, this reward does not apply to praying at Masjid al-Haram or Ka’bah as it is already considered to be superior to all other mosques. This hadith encourages Muslims to pray regularly at their local mosques as it brings great rewards from Allah SWT. It also teaches us that we should always strive for excellence and aim for higher goals even if we are already doing something good like offering regular prayers at home or any other place outside a mosque.
