QUICK LESSONS:
Be mindful and precise when performing religious practices and rituals
EXPLANATIONS:
According to the hadith narrated by 'Aishah, the Prophet Muhammad used to perform ritual ablution or ghusl using two different measurements of water. A mudd is an ancient unit of measurement which is equivalent to approximately 1.5 kilograms or 3.3 pounds while a sa’ is equal to 4 mudds or 6 kilograms or 13.2 pounds. This hadith teaches us that we should be mindful and precise in our religious practices and rituals as it was practiced by the Prophet himself. It also shows us that even when performing something as simple as ghusl, we should strive for excellence in our actions and take care not to be careless in any aspect of our lives whether spiritual or physical.
