Respect animals, Follow instructions given by Prophet Muhammad regarding killing of animals. Wash vessels which have been licked by a dog seven times before use them again .

The Prophet Muhammad commanded that dogs should be killed in general, but he made an exception for hunting dogs and sheepdogs. This is because these two types of dogs are useful to humans in different ways; hunting dogs help us hunt animals while sheepdogs help us protect our livestock from predators. Additionally, the Prophet Muhammad said that if a dog licks a vessel then it should be washed seven times and rubbed with dust the eighth time. This is likely to ensure cleanliness as well as hygiene when using vessels which have been licked by a dog.
