Sahih Muslim 1038a (Book 12, Hadith 127) #9526
The Blessing of Patience

SUMMARY: One should not be insistent when asking for something from the Prophet, as it will not bring blessings.

Mu'awiya reported Allah's Messenger as saying: Do not press in a matter, for I swear by Allah, none of you who asks me for anything and manages to get his request while I disdain it, will he be blessed in that which I give him.

QUICK LESSONS:
Remain humble and patient when making requests.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of patience and humility when making a request to someone. It was reported by Mu'awiya that Allah's Messenger said, "Do not press in a matter, for I swear by Allah, none of you who asks me for anything and manages to get his request while I disdain it, will he be blessed in that which I give him." This means that if one is persistent and insistent when asking for something from the Prophet or anyone else, they will not receive any blessings from what they are given. Instead, one should remain humble and patient when making requests so that they can receive blessings from whatever is given to them.
