Sahih Muslim 45a (Book 1, Hadith 77) #7342
Loving Your Neighbor as Yourself

SUMMARY: Believing in Allah requires one to love for their neighbor what they love for themselves.

It is narrated on the authority of Anas b. Malik that the Prophet (may peace and blessings be upon him) observed: "None amongst you believes (truly) until he loves for his brother" - or he said "for his neighbour" - "that which he loves for himself".

QUICK LESSONS:
Love your neighbor as you love yourself
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Anas b. Malik, teaches us that true belief in Allah requires us to love our neighbors as we would ourselves. We should treat our neighbors with the same kindness and respect that we would want for ourselves, and not do anything to them that we wouldn’t want done to us. This is a fundamental principle of Islam; it is not enough just to believe in Allah, but rather one must also act on this belief by treating others with kindness and respect.
