Loving the Prophet More Than Anything Else

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that no one can be considered a true believer until they love him more than their own child, father, and the rest of mankind.

It is reported on the authority of Anas b. Malik that the Messenger of Allah said: None of you is a believer until I am dearer to him than his child, his father, and the whole of mankind.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَابْنُ، بَشَّارٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ لاَ يُؤْمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى أَكُونَ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ وَلَدِهِ وَوَالِدِهِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of loving and believing in the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It teaches us that we must love him more than anything else in this world, including our own children and fathers. We must have faith in his teachings and strive to follow them as best as we can. This hadith also reminds us that our faith should be so strong that it surpasses any other worldly attachment or relationship we may have with anyone else. In order to be a true believer, we must prioritize our love for Allah SWT and His Messenger ﷺ above all else.
