The Wrong of Hypocrisy in Praising Rulers

SUMMARY: It is wrong to say one thing to a ruler when entering and another when leaving.

Narrated Muhammad bin Zaid bin 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: Some people said to Ibn 'Umar, "When we enter upon our ruler(s) we say in their praise what is contrary to what we say when we leave them". Ibn 'Umar said, "We used to consider this as hypocrisy".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be honest & sincere with your words & actions regardless of who you're interacting with .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the wrong of hypocrisy in praising rulers. Ibn Umar was asked by some people if it was alright to say something different when entering and leaving a ruler, and he said that this would be considered as hypocrisy. This means that it is not right to pretend or act differently around someone just because they are in power, but rather we should always be honest with our words and actions regardless of who we are talking to or interacting with. We should also remember that Allah knows all our intentions, so even if we try to hide something from others He will still know what is truly in our hearts.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us many lessons on how we should interact with others, especially those who have authority over us such as rulers or leaders. He taught us that it is important for us to always remain truthful and honest no matter the situation, even if it may seem difficult at times. We must also remember that Allah knows all our intentions so even if we try to hide something from others He will still know what is truly in our hearts.

This hadith reminds us of the importance of being sincere with ourselves and others at all times, no matter who they are or what position they hold in society. It teaches us not only how important honesty is but also how much Allah values sincerity from His servants - both towards Him and towards each other - which can only come through being truthful about one's words and actions at all times.
