Sahih al-Bukhari 7153 (Book 93, Hadith 17) #6872
Loving Allah and His Apostle

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ taught that loving Allah and His Apostle is the best preparation for the Day of Judgment.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: While the Prophet and I were coming out of the mosque, a man met us outside the gate. The man said, "O Allah's Messenger ! When will be the Hour?" The Prophet asked him, "What have you prepared for it?" The man became afraid and ashamed and then said, "O Allah's Messenger ! I haven't prepared for it much of fasts, prayers or charitable gifts but I love Allah and His Apostle". The Prophet said, "You will be with the one whom you love".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Anas bin Malik, teaches us about the importance of loving Allah and His Messenger. When a man asked the Prophet when the Hour would be, he asked him what he had prepared for it. The man replied that he hadn't done much in terms of fasting, prayer or charity but that he loved Allah and His Messenger. The Prophet then said to him "You will be with the one whom you love". This teaches us that loving God is more important than any other action we can take in preparing for judgment day. It also shows us how much God values our love for Him above all else.

This hadith also reminds us to always strive to increase our love for God through acts such as prayer, fasting and charity as these are all ways we can show our devotion to Him. We should also remember to show our love for God's messenger by following his teachings and example in order to gain his intercession on judgment day. Finally, this hadith serves as a reminder that no matter what we do or don't do in life, if we truly have faith in God then He will accept us into paradise on judgment day because He loves those who love Him most deeply.
