Afflictions from the East

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ pointed towards the East and warned of afflictions coming from that direction.

Narrated Salim's father: The Prophet stood up beside the pulpit (and pointed with his finger towards the East) and said, "Afflictions are there! Afflictions are there, from where the side of the head of Satan comes out," or said, ".the side of the sun"..
حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ أَنَّهُ قَامَ إِلَى جَنْبِ الْمِنْبَرِ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ الْفِتْنَةُ هَا هُنَا الْفِتْنَةُ هَا هُنَا مِنْ حَيْثُ يَطْلُعُ قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ ‏"‏‏.‏ أَوْ قَالَ ‏"‏ قَرْنُ الشَّمْسِ
