Afflictions Falling Like Rain Drops

SUMMARY: The Prophet saw afflictions falling among the people's houses like rain drops.

Narrated Usama bin Zaid: Once the Prophet stood over one of the high buildings of Medina and then said (to the people), "Do you see what I see?" They said, "No". He said, "I see afflictions falling among your houses as rain drops fall".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ،‏.‏ وَحَدَّثَنِي مَحْمُودٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْد ٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ أَشْرَفَ النَّبِيُّ عَلَى أُطُمٍ مِنْ آطَامِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ هَلْ تَرَوْنَ مَا أَرَى ‏"‏‏.‏ قَالُوا لاَ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏"‏ فَإِنِّي لأَرَى الْفِتَنَ تَقَعُ خِلاَلَ بُيُوتِكُمْ كَوَقْعِ الْقَطْرِ

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was once standing on one of the high buildings in Medina and asked his companions if they could see what he saw. They replied that they could not. He then said that he could see afflictions falling among their houses like rain drops fall from the sky. This hadith is a reminder to us all that we should always be prepared for any kind of difficulty or hardship that may come our way and to never take anything for granted as it can all change in an instant. We should also remember to stay strong and have faith in Allah during these times as He will always be there to help us through them.
