The Rapid Passage of Time and Decrease in Good Deeds

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ warned that time will pass quickly, good deeds will decrease, and there will be much killing.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Time will pass rapidly, good deeds will decrease, miserliness will be thrown (in the hearts of the people) afflictions will appear and there will be much 'Al-Harj". They said, "O Allah's Apostle! What is "Al-Harj?" He said, "Killing! Killing!"

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith warns us about the rapid passage of time and the decrease in good deeds. It is narrated by Abu Huraira who was a companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He said that time will pass quickly, good deeds will decrease, people's hearts will become filled with miserliness, and there would be much killing. This hadith serves as a reminder to us to make use of our time wisely by doing good deeds before it passes away from us too quickly. We should also strive to stay away from miserliness and not engage in any kind of violence or killing as it is prohibited in Islam.
