Sahih al-Bukhari 7059 (Book 92, Hadith 11) #6783
The Prophet's Warning of an Approaching Great Evil

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the Prophet warning the Arabs of a great evil that is approaching them, and how even if there are righteous people among them, they will still be destroyed if evil increases.

Narrated Zainab bint Jahsh: The Prophet got up from his sleep with a flushed red face and said, "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah. Woe to the Arabs, from the Great evil that is nearly approaching them. Today a gap has been made in the wall of Gog and Magog like this". (Sufyan illustrated by this forming the number 90 or 100 with his fingers) It was asked, "Shall we be destroyed though there are righteous people among us?" The Prophet said, "Yes, if evil increased".

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, the Prophet warned the Arabs of a great evil that was approaching them. He said that even if there were righteous people among them, they would still be destroyed if evil increased. This hadith teaches us to always strive to do good and stay away from bad deeds as much as possible in order to protect ourselves from destruction. It also reminds us that no matter how many good deeds we do, it won't save us from destruction if we don't stop others from doing bad things or increase in our own bad deeds. We should always strive to spread goodness and prevent others from doing wrong so that we can protect ourselves and our community from destruction.
