Respect your elders, Uphold sanctity of life, Be truthful

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ warned against four of the biggest sins that a person can commit. These are joining others in worship with Allah, being undutiful to one's parents, killing somebody unlawfully and taking an oath Al-Ghamus. Joining others in worship with Allah is considered a major sin because it is associating partners with Him which He has forbidden. Being undutiful to one’s parents is also considered a major sin as it goes against the teachings of Islam which emphasize respect for elders and those who have taken care of us since birth. Killing someone unlawfully is also considered a major sin as it goes against the sanctity of life that Islam teaches us to uphold and protect at all costs. Taking an oath Al-Ghamus means swearing falsely or making false promises; this too is considered a major sin as it goes against truthfulness which Islam emphasizes greatly upon its followers.
