Sahih al-Bukhari 6674 (Book 83, Hadith 52) #6419
Slaughtering Sacrifices in the Name of Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ instructed those who had already slaughtered their sacrifice before the 'Id prayer to slaughter another animal, and those who had not yet done so to do so while mentioning Allah's Name.

Narrated Jundub: I witnessed the Prophet offering the 'Id prayer (and after finishing it) he delivered a sermon and said, "Whoever has slaughtered his sacrifice (before the prayer) should make up for it (ie slaughter another animal) and whoever has not slaughtered his sacrifice yet, should slaughter it by mentioning Allah's Name over it".

QUICK LESSONS:
Offer a sacrifice as an act of worship & devotion to God while remembering Him through prayer & other acts of devotion

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, narrated by Jundub ibn Junadah, the Prophet Muhammad instructed Muslims to slaughter their sacrifices in the name of Allah. This is a ritual that is performed during Eid al-Adha, which is one of two major Islamic holidays. During this holiday, Muslims are encouraged to offer a sacrifice as an act of worship and devotion to God. The Prophet Muhammad taught that when sacrificing an animal for this purpose, it should be done with reverence and respect for God by mentioning His name over it. This teaches us that all acts of worship should be done with humility and gratitude towards God for His blessings. It also reminds us that we should always strive to remember Him in our daily lives through prayer and other acts of devotion.
