QUICK LESSONS:
Pray for others' righteousness

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Anas ibn Malik, who was a companion of Prophet Muhammad. In this hadith, the Prophet is praying to Allah for the righteousness of two groups - the Ansar and the Emigrants. The Ansars were people from Medina who welcomed and helped Muslims when they migrated from Mecca in 622 CE. The Muhajirun were those Muslims who left their homes in Mecca to migrate to Medina with Prophet Muhammad. This hadith teaches us that we should always pray for others’ righteousness, as it is an important part of our faith as Muslims. We should also remember that we are all connected, no matter where we come from or what our backgrounds are; just like how Prophet Muhammad prayed for both groups even though they were different in many ways.
