Sahih al-Bukhari 6414 (Book 81, Hadith 3) #6163
The Life of the Hereafter

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was digging a trench with his companions and asked Allah to forgive the Ansar and the Emigrants.

Narrated Sahl bin Sa'd As-Sa'idi: We were in the company of Allah's Messenger in (the battle of) Al-Khandaq, and he was digging the trench while we were carrying the earth away. He looked at us and said, "O Allah! There is no life worth living except the life of the Hereafter, so (please) forgive the Ansar and the Emigrants".

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for forgiveness from Allah, Remember those who have sacrificed their lives for our benefit

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of life in the hereafter. It was narrated by Sahl bin Sa'd As-Sa'idi who said that they were in the company of Prophet Muhammad while he was digging a trench for battle. He looked at them and asked Allah to forgive both the Ansar and Emigrants. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive for forgiveness from Allah as it is only through His mercy that we can attain eternal life in Jannah. We should also remember those who have sacrificed their lives for our benefit, such as those who migrated from Makkah to Madinah or those who fought alongside Prophet Muhammad during battles like Al-Khandaq.
