Sahih al-Bukhari 631 (Book 10, Hadith 28) #608
Teaching Religion and Praying Properly

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) advised a group of young people to go back to their families and teach them the religion, as well as ordering them to do good things. He also instructed them on how to pray.

Narrated Malik: We came to the Prophet and stayed with him for twenty days and nights. We were all young and of about the same age. The Prophet was very kind and merciful. When he realized our longing for our families, he asked about our homes and the people there and we told him. Then he asked us to go back to our families and stay with them and teach them (the religion) and to order them to do good things. He also mentioned some other things which I have (remembered or ? ) forgotten. The Prophet then added, "Pray as you have seen me praying and when it is the time for the prayer one of you should pronounce the Adhan and the oldest of you should lead the prayer.

Teach your family about religion; Order your family members to do good deeds; Pray properly accordingto teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was very kind and merciful towards a group of young people who stayed with him for twenty days and nights. He understood their longing for their families, so he asked about their homes and the people there. Then he gave them advice on how they should act when they returned home; he told them to teach their families about religion, order them to do good deeds, and pray in the same way that he had taught them. This hadith teaches us that it is important for us to share our knowledge of Islam with our family members so that we can help guide each other in doing good deeds. It also reminds us that we should always strive to pray properly according to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ .
