Beware of Calling Someone a Disbeliever

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) warned against calling someone a disbeliever, as it could lead to one of them actually becoming a disbeliever.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: Allah's Messenger said, 'If anyone says to his brother, 'O Misbeliever! Then surely, one of them such".
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ قَالَ لأَخِيهِ يَا كَافِرُ‏.‏ فَقَدْ بَاءَ بِهَا أَحَدُهُمَا
