Sahih al-Bukhari 5608 (Book 74, Hadith 34) #5383
The Benefits of Animal Charity

SUMMARY: Charity is best done through giving animals that produce milk, such as she-camels and she-goats, so that the recipient can use the milk for their benefit.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "The best object of charity is a she-camel which has (newly) given birth and gives plenty of milk, or a she-goat which gives plenty of milk; and is given to somebody to utilize its milk by milking one bowl in the morning and one in the evening".

QUICK LESSONS:
Give animals that produce plenty of milk as an act of charity so that it can benefit those who are less fortunate than you in a long term manner.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains the importance of charity and how it should be done in a beneficial way. According to this hadith, one of the best forms of charity is to give an animal such as a she-camel or a she-goat which produces plenty of milk. This way, not only will you be helping someone in need but also providing them with something that can help them sustain themselves by milking one bowl in the morning and one in the evening. This teaches us to think beyond just giving money or food when it comes to helping others; we should look for ways where our donations can have long term benefits for those who are less fortunate than us.
