EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates that during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, it was permissible to slaughter and eat horses. This is an example of how the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, allowed certain things that were not previously allowed in other religions. The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, also taught us to treat animals with kindness and respect even if we are going to slaughter them for food. He also taught us that we should not waste any part of an animal's body after it has been slaughtered as this would be disrespectful towards the animal itself.
