Choosing Allah and His Messenger

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) gave his wives the option to remain with him or to be divorced, and they chose Allah and His Messenger. This was not considered a divorce.

Narrated 'Aisha: Allah's Messenger gave us the option (to remain with him or to be divorced) and we selected Allah and His Apostle . So, giving us that option was not regarded as divorce.

It tells us that when the Prophet Muhammad gave his wives the option to remain with him or to be divorced, they chose Allah and His Messenger instead of taking any other path. This shows us how devoted they were in their faith towards God Almighty and His beloved messenger, even if it meant sacrificing their own desires for it. It also teaches us that even though this choice was given, it did not count as a divorce because of their sincere devotion towards God Almighty and His messenger.
