Sahih al-Bukhari 4975 (Book 65, Hadith 497) #4757
The Self-Sufficient Master

SUMMARY: Allah is the self-sufficient Master, Who begets not nor was He begotten, and there is none like unto Him.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "Allah said:-- 'The son of Adam tells a lie against Me and he hasn't the right to do so; and he abuses me and he hasn't the right to do so. His telling a lie against Me is his saying that I will not recreate him as I created him for the first time; and his abusing Me is his saying that Allah has begotten children, while I am the self-sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, Who begets not nor was He begotten, and there is none like unto Me".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that Allah is the self-sufficient master who does not need anyone or anything. He created us from nothing and will recreate us as he did before. We should never lie about Allah or abuse him by saying that he has children because this is impossible. We must remember that there is no one like him and we should always show respect to him in our words and actions. This hadith teaches us to be humble in front of Allah's greatness and power, as well as to be truthful when speaking about Him. It also reminds us of His mercy towards us by creating us from nothing and recreating us again after death.
