The Two Al-Mu'awwidhatayn in the Qur'an

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) recited two Surats of taking refuge with Allah and confirmed that they are part of the Qur'an.

Narrated Zirr bin Hubaish: I asked Ubai bin Ka'b regarding the two Al-Mu'awwidhatayn (Surats of taking refuge with Allah). He said, "I asked the Prophet about them, He said, 'These two Surats have been recited to me and I have recited them (and are present in the Qur'an)'. So, we say as Allah's Messenger said (ie, they are part of the Qur'an".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about two Surats of taking refuge with Allah which are present in the Qur’an. These two Surats are known as ‘Al Mu’awwidhatayn’ which means ‘The Two Protectors or Guardians’. Zirr bin Hubaish asked Ubai bin Ka’b regarding these two Surats and he said that he asked the Prophet ﷺ about them and he said that these have been recited to him and he has also recited them himself. This shows us how important it is to take refuge with Allah for protection from all evil things in this world as well as hereafter. It also teaches us to follow what our beloved prophet ﷺ has taught us without any doubt or hesitation because it is a source of guidance for us from Allah Almighty Himself.
