The Power of Invocations

SUMMARY: This hadith explains the importance of invocations and how it is related to a verse in the Quran.

Narrated Aisha: The (above) verse was revealed in connection with the invocations.
حَدَّثَنِي طَلْقُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ قَالَتْ أُنْزِلَ ذَلِكَ فِي الدُّعَاءِ‏.‏

When making du’a, we should have faith that Allah will answer our prayers if they are good and sincere. Additionally, when making du’a we should also remember to thank Allah for all his blessings upon us as well as ask him for forgiveness for any wrongdoings we may have committed. The power of invocations lies within its ability to bring us closer to Allah through prayer and supplication which can help us become better people overall.
