The Reward for Visiting an Ailing Person

SUMMARY: Visiting an ailing person or a brother of one's to seek the pleasure of Allah will be rewarded with happiness, blessings and a dignified position in Jannah.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard Messenger of Allah saying, "Whosoever visits an ailing person or a brother of his to seek the Pleasure of Allah, an announcer (angel) calls out: 'May you be happy, may your walking be blessed, and may you be awarded a dignified position in Jannah". At- Tirmidhi, who categorized it as Hadith Hasan.
وعنه قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله ‏:‏ ‏ "‏من عاد مريضًا أو زار أخًا له في الله، ناداه منادٍ، بأن طبت، وطاب ممشاك، وتبوأت من الجنة منزلاً‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه الترمذي وقال ‏:‏ حديث حسن ، وفي بعض النسخ غريب‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the reward that awaits those who visit an ailing person or their brother to seek the pleasure of Allah. It is narrated by Abu Hurairah may Allah be pleased with him, that he heard Prophet Muhammad ﷺ say that when someone visits an ill person or their brother for this purpose, then an announcer from Heaven will call out saying "May you be happy, may your walking be blessed and may you receive a dignified position in Jannah". This hadith teaches us that we should always strive to do good deeds as they are rewarded by Allah. We should also take care of our brothers and sisters in faith and visit them when they are ill as it brings us closer to God's pleasure. Furthermore, it encourages us to have faith in God's mercy and rewards which He bestows upon those who do good deeds.
