The Love of Allah

SUMMARY: Allah loves us as much as we love Him for His sake.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet said, "A man set out to visit a brother (in Faith) in another town and Allah sent an angel on his way. When the man met the angel, the latter asked him, "Where do you intend to go?" He said, "I intend to visit my brother in this town". The angel said, "Have you done any favour to him?" He said, "No, I have no desire except to visit him because I love him for the sake of Allah, the Exalted, and Glorious". Thereupon the angel said, "I am a messenger to you from Allah (to inform you) that Allah loves you as you love him (for His sake)" Muslim.

QUICK LESSONS:
Show your love and appreciation towards others for the sake of God

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the immense love that Allah has for us. It tells us that if we love someone for the sake of Allah, then He will also love us in return. The hadith is narrated by Abu Hurairah, who was a companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. In this hadith, a man sets out to visit his brother in another town and on his way he meets an angel sent by Allah who asks him why he is visiting his brother. The man replies that he loves him for the sake of God and upon hearing this, the angel informs him that God loves him too just as much as he loves Him. This teaches us to always remember to show our love and appreciation towards others because it will be reciprocated by God Himself!
