Riyad as-Salihin 1614 (Book 17, Hadith 104) #38103
Avoiding Seven Major Sins

SUMMARY: This hadith is about avoiding seven major sins, which are associating anything with Allah in worship, sorcery, killing of one whom Allah has declared inviolable without a just cause, devouring the property of an orphan, the eating of usury (Riba), fleeing from the battlefield and accusing chaste believing women.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet said, "Keep away from the seven fatalities". It was asked: "What are they, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "Associating anything with Allah in worship (ie, committing an act of Shirk), sorcery, killing of one whom Allah has declared inviolable without a just cause, devouring the property of an orphan, the eating of usury (Riba), fleeing from the battlefield and accusing chaste believing women, who never even think of anything touching their chastity". Al-Bukhari and Muslim.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith was narrated by Abu Hurairah who was a companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. In this hadith Prophet Muhammad ﷺ warns us to stay away from seven major sins which are associating anything with Allah in worship, sorcery, killing someone without a just cause, devouring the property of an orphan child, eating usury or Riba , fleeing from the battlefield and accusing chaste believing women who never think about doing something wrong. These sins are considered very serious and should be avoided at all costs as they can lead to severe consequences both in this world and hereafter. We should strive to do good deeds instead so that we can gain rewards from Allah SWT for our good deeds in this life as well as hereafter.
